As a representation of 16th Ave, the painting eliminates the several blocks between God’s Pentecostal Temple (still there!) on the right and the large house on the left, originally to be found several crossings to the north near the corner of 16th and Union, now no longer anywhere, having been replaced by four new townhouses.
As for the beautifully painted truck, the painter’s not seen it again although for that one moment there it stood, carrying materials needed for construction of the new buildings visible up the hill.
In the foreground, granddaughter Anna, now rescuing cats in Albuquerque, posed as the passer-by.
The neighborhood does not stand still.
